Helen graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2005. Following graduation Helen moved to the United States where she completed an internship in Equine Neonatology at Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Centre in Virginia.
Helen completed an additional 12 month equine internship with Pacific Crest Equine, a full service first opinion and referral hospital in central California. Following the internship program Helen worked in New Zealand for a 6 month breeding season before returning to join the permanent team of vets at Pacific Crest Equine, where she remained in practice in California until 2012.
Helen joined the team at The Barn Equine Surgery in 2012 and has enjoyed working in all aspects of general equine practice. Helen’s main area of interest is in internal medicine, including management of equine gastric ulcer syndrome, anaesthesia and foal care. Helen has completed an RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with a designation in equine internal medicine and was awarded Advanced Practitioner status in Equine Medicine in 2017.
Outside of work Helen enjoys camping and walking with her young son and terrier cross, Bertie.
