Amy qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004, and joined the Barn Equine Surgery as a new graduate. Amy developed a strong interest in equine dentistry from the very beginning of her career, passing her BEVA/BVDA exam and becoming a member of the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians in 2007. Amy has subsequently studied for and been examined to obtain her Certificate in Equine Dentistry in 2015, and became an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Equine Dentistry in 2017.
Amy provides an in-house and external referral service for advanced dentistry procedures, including oroscopic examination, oral extractions, minimally invasive transbuccal extractions, periodontal work, restorative and endodontic procedures. Apart from her passion for dentistry, Amy enjoys all aspects of general equine practice and is just as happy paring a foot abscess to stitching up a wound, attending a colic or discussing management of a Cushing’s case.
Outside of work Amy is busy with her young family and menagerie of pets, and when time allows enjoys riding and entering half marathons!
